This README file contains instructions to replicate the analysis and figures for "Ethnicities and Conflict: A Survey Experiment on the Effect of Narrative Framing on Perceptions in Jos, Nigeria" by Laura Thaut Vinson and Peter Rudloff in the journal ETHNOPOLITICS. 

The steps to replicate the analysis are as follows:

 1. Be sure to save all of the files to a common directory, and then to replace DIRECTORY_PATH_HERE near the top of each of the .do files with the path to this common directory 

2. Run the "ci_creation.do" file in Stata to create the means and standard errors contained in the three .csv files 

3. Run the "ci_plot.do" file in Stata to create the mean and confidence interval figures contained in the paper and the appendix 

4. Run the "ethnicities_and_conflict.do" file in Stata to recreate the other figures and replicate the analysis in the paper and the appendix

Each .do file will create a .log file in the common directory you indicated in step 1. All figures will also be saved in the common directory you indicated in step 1.
