Spotlighting Deer for Determination of Population Trends in Oklahoma

Abstract
The objective of this study was to evaluate roadside counts of white-tailed deer at night with the aid of spotlights for the determination of populations trends and sex and age ratios in Oklahoma. The study was conducted with the goal of making recommendations to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation concerning the feasibility of using the spotlight technique and the application of the technique in the field. The thesis is in the format and style of the Journal of Wildlife Management.
