The objectives of the present study were to: (1) compare the method of Odum and Hoskin with that of McConnell for determining community metabolism data from diurnal cycles in oxygen concentration in an in-situ study, and (2) investigate causes of horizontal variation in community metabolism among areas of Lake Carl Blackwell.
