Join self-taught portrait artist, Metadata Librarian, and Assistant Professor of Professional Practice, Bailey Hoffner, in a demonstration and group exploration of free-hand portraiture. Bailey will share briefly about her non-traditional path towards visual art – including being adult-diagnosed autistic – and how the practice of free-hand portraiture and drawing has become a regular practice of trust in her life. Multiple drawing modalities will be available, with the option to draw from an image or to engage in live model drawing with one another and/or the instructor. All skill and experience levels are welcome, and anyone who doesn’t think they can draw is encouraged to attend. We will be using pen, paper, and oil pastels. This event is intended as a regenerative break from productivity and hustle culture, with a mind towards encouraging individual and community wellness for OSU’s FCGE community.
